Welcome to the research blog of the King Edward’s Consortium. Here you will find summaries of our PGDipEd trainees’ reading and research.

The headteachers of our 19 schools are very proud of our outstanding track record in recruiting and training high-flyers for a successful career in teaching.  A typical KEC trainee will be knowledgeable and passionate about their subject and have a clear commitment to a career in teaching.  Our trainees make a positive difference to the pupils they work with from the very start of the programme and our graduates are highly sought-after for employment once they qualify.

We are rated number one of all School-Centred Initial Teacher Training providers in the country in The Good Teacher Training Guide 2017. We are also praised for being a ‘stand out’ performer in this and previous Good Teacher Training Guides. This is because our trainees are exceptionally well-qualified and because we have a 100% employment rate. In addition, new teachers who have trained with us rate their training very positively in the annual National College for Teaching & Leadership survey. We were graded outstanding by Ofsted in our November 2012 inspection.
