Welcome to the research blog of the King Edward’s Consortium. Here you will find summaries of our PGDipEd trainees’ reading and research.
The headteachers of our 22 schools are very proud of our outstanding track record in recruiting and training high-flyers for a successful career in teaching. A typical KEC trainee will be knowledgeable and passionate about their subject and have a clear commitment to a career in teaching. Our trainees make a positive difference to the pupils they work with from the very start of the programme and our graduates are highly sought-after for employment once they qualify.
We are rated number one of all Initial Teacher Training providers in the country for school-based fee and salaried routes in The Good Teacher Training Guide 2015. This is because our trainees are exceptionally well-qualified and because employment rates are very high (100% of trainees from our last cohort entered teaching employment in September 2016). In addition, new teachers who have trained with us rate their training very positively in the annual National College for Teaching & Leadership survey. We were graded outstanding by Ofsted in our November 2012 inspection.
